Weekly Weigh-In #4

I really don't have much to say about this week. I did not meet my 15 mile goal :( I got to 11.11 miles. Which really is nothing to scoff at, but still, I had every opportunity to meet that goal and didn't. Anywho, this week's #'s... I have a hot date to get ready for!

Last week I weighed:
194.8 pounds
This week I weigh:
192.8 pounds
For a weekly weight loss of:
  2 pounds
and an overall weight loss of:
5.77%

Which means I met my 2 pound goal for this week! Woo! The only goal I'm setting for the next week is to not gain any weight. Any kind of loss will be welcomed! I REFUSE to give up any part of my holiday. I'm already 1000 miles from family and Thanksgiving tends to be a little depressing.... I WILL enjoy my comfort foods on Thursday.. and Thursday only! The rest of the week I'll be a good girl :)

This week's picture (which sucks. I think I look fatter. Oh well, it'll pay off in the end, I'm sure there's a big difference from my week 1 picture!)

I'm off for some amazing mommy time with one of my bestest friends. We get to go pick out FREE dresses from Old Navy! #loveoldnavydresses #crowdtaprocksmysocksoff

I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

and get some walking in... if turkey found time to do it this week.. surely we all can ;)

Weekly Weigh-In #3

Eeek! What a week. I feel like I was SO good. I ate healthy, and I ate a LOT! You wouldn't believe the amount of food on my plate last night, and it all came in under 500 calories (kabobs with chicken, mushrooms, zucchini, onions... basted in homemade honey balsamic vinaigrette and grilled... with fresh broccoli sauteed (with no oil!) with some garlic and salt and pepper, and broccoli cheese rice... so so good.) Who ever said 'dieting' meant starving yourself!? Another night I had the most LOADED grilled chicken cobb salad... chicken, avocados, boiled egg (whites), bacon, onion, tomato, bleu cheese crumbles, cucumbers, spinach, arugula, lettuce, low fat balsamic dressing. I couldn't even finish it! You don't have to eat a tiny bit of yucky food to lose weight! I worked out like crazy this week too. I set a goal last week of 12 miles. I ended up doing 14.6. Some was walking around base housing, some was treadmill, and most of it was on the elliptical (much easier on my hip!) but I am happy that I not only met but surpassed my goal! I also started adding back in some strength exercises this week. Alternating machines, doing legs and back one day and arms and abs the next. (Well, I kind of did abs every day, a crunch routine!) I have felt so good this week. I even had a few treats along the way, and never went over my calories! That's part of my secret. If you really feel like you need something... let yourself have it. If you don't, you'll binge on it later. Skinny cow ice cream sandwiches are my GODSEND! Love them. Anyway, this has been a pretty unchallenging week as far as temptations, so I guess you all just want me to get to the good stuff right? I guess it's time to reveal that I exceeded not just my distance goal, but weight too! Hoody-Hooooo!

Last week I weighed:
198.8 pounds

This week I weigh:
194.8 pounds

For a weekly weight loss of:
4 pounds

and an overall weight loss of:
4.79%

I'm so excited! 4 pounds!! The normal way, the healthy way, by myself most of the time (I miss my gym bestie :( wahhhh Tara move back). I'm already almost 1/5 of the way to my 50 pound goal, and only 3 weeks in! I'm seeing definite differences in my body (though the pictures don't show as much, bad angle maybe? I see it, Chad's mentioned it... it's there!) On that note. Pics!

I really hate this week's pictures. Maybe it's a combination of lighting, distance to camera, etc. But I don't see my progress in these pictures like I do in the mirror. Except my back boobs, they're definitely shrinking ;)

This week's goals!
15 miles (whoa Nelly!)
192.8 pounds (for a 2 pound loss for the week, can't expect another 4 pound loss, though it would be awesome!)

Today is my cheat day... it gets me over my cravings for the rest of the week. We were at the bowling alley yesterday and my willpower was waning at the smell of curly fries!) back at it tomorrow, planning an extra long gym trip! Thanks for reading, and for your support :)

Weekly Weigh-In #2

Week 2! What a week... and not in a good way. I was tempted and gave in way too much :( First, there was Halloween. Up until then, I had been doing great! Halloween night after we took the kids trick or treating we had to rush off to Dothan where we were spending the night in preparation of Kye's eye surgery on Thursday morning. On our way out of town we ate at Old Mexico-strike #1. I was not good. On our way from Old Mexico to Dothan I ate more than my share of chocolate from the Halloween buckets-strike #2. The day of Kye's surgery none of us ate breakfast and it was nearly 1:00pm before we left the surgery center... so we stopped at Bojangles (which all my friends rant and rave about... but I thought was disgusting) for lunch-strike #3. I had several more strikes the rest of the week as I'd steal a little chocolate out of the Halloween bucket here or there (it's the chocolate that gets me!). On top of my edible indiscretions I also had issues working out this week :( Early in the week I was getting ready to go to the gym. As I got up, I told Chad my hip hurt a little (kind of like I twisted it getting up). I went to the gym anyway and did more than I have yet (very high incline, 4 miles, 700 calories burned! Yeah!). By that night... I was very much regretting it. I could barely walk. By the next morning, I literally COULDN'T walk. I had the worst night of pain and leg cramps. I spent the next several days not being able to work out as I slowly walked out whatever I had done to my hip. I went back to the gym Friday and was disappointed to have to walk very slowly, with no incline, and burn only half of the calories I knew I could have in the same amount of time. Anything else had my hip hurting again. Yesterday I took the boys for a quick walk around the loop (just shy of 1.5 miles) and my hip hasn't been bad from that, so hopefully I'm on the mend! Not being able to workout definitely impacts my willpower. When I get to workout, especially when I get to REALLY workout, I feel better! I feel motivated, I feel like I'm ready to do this! I didn't reach either of my goals I had set for myself last week. That being said, this week wasn't a total bust. I still managed to lose a little (which is better than a maintain or a gain any time!) and despite the slowly moving numbers on the scale I am seeing a difference in my body. I can put on shorts I haven't worn since I had lost all my weight before (about 5 more pounds before they're really comfortable). I can see a difference in this week's pictures too.

So...

Last week I weighed:
200.2 pounds

This week I weigh:
198.8 pounds

For a weekly weight loss of:
1.4 pounds

and an overall weight loss of:
2.83%

and this week's picture!

I'm excited to be under 200 pounds again! I hope I never have to see a number above that again!

So, goals for next week.

Get down to 196 pounds. 195 would tickle my fancy even more.
Once again, log 12 miles of walking.

I've been thinking too. I need an overall goal. I think my overall goal is to lose 50 pounds by my graduation (ahhhh university graduation!) on May 10. I think it's a completely reasonable goal, and would put me right in an optimum weight range for me! My big reward will be shopping for a really nice dress to wear under my cap and gown (squeeeel again! cap & gown?! ah!).

and one last thing...
I can't thank you all enough for the support. Knowing that I have to answer to all of you keeps me going every week. I love hearing your encouragement, or how I've inspired you... gives me the warm fuzzies!
