Here we go again!

Well, it's been a year and a half since my last post! A lot has happened since then... first, I gained back most of my 34 pounds lost... then I had a 3rd baby (a pretty cute one too) and now here I am, 4 months postpartum and trying to lose the weight again. I've had a harder time finding my motivation this time around. It's definitely the wrong time of year to try and hop on a healthy bandwagon. I want to bake and cook and of course, eat what I make. Candy is everywhere, hello Halloween! I've been tempted plenty and gave in a few more times than I'd have liked to. But then I thought.. no... no this is the PERFECT time of year to hop on the bandwagon! I can avoid all the goodies and candy! Myself and 25 of the best mamas I know decided to start up a challenge! YES! It worked so wonderfully last time.

So, here we are. Week 1 weigh in results!

I started this journey weighing:
204.6 pounds

This week I weigh:
200.2 pounds

For a weekly loss of:
4.4 pounds

and an overall weight loss percentage of:
2.15%

I see very little change in my body this week, but I feel been more energized and motivated for sure! This week I've walked a total of about 10 miles and I've been counting calories (aiming for around 1500) using My Fitness Pal (LOVE this app, helps so much to have it put right in front of your face exactly what you're putting into your body). I've faced several trials but that's all part of it, bringing yourself through them. I currently don't feel like I have a ton of support from Chad. Well, he's supportive, but not in the "I'm going to do this with you" way, more in the "I'm so happy and want to help you however I can, while I sit and eat these Oreos in front of you" way. I feel I had a pretty successful week and seeing the numbers go down is definitely motivation to carry on. 

This week's goals:
walk 12 or more miles
get to 198 or lower by the next weigh-in

Weekly Weigh in #13!!!!!

I never got around to posting last week! I feel like I've just been stretched so thin, so many things to do. Every time I thought about it I was busy. So, last week was a 0.8 pound gain, not my best. I kind of went on a binger, I was eating hot dogs and ice cream and cupcakes and pizza and mexican food and the list goes on and on and on. I guess every now and then that's ok, it definitely made me see how harmful it was, I put on 9 pounds between weigh in the previous Sunday and Wednesday mid-week! I had to bust my ass to get all but that 0.8 off. This week has been muchhhh better! One of my bestest friends and my gym buddy and motivator moved this week :( I was afraid of losing motivation without somebody there with me, so I've been pushing myself and I feel like I'm doing even better on my own. I've also started the Couch to 5K plan, have done 2 days of it so far. Will I actually run a 5k when I'm done? Maybe, we'll see. It's hard to see beyond the feeling of death I'm feeling right now! I feel like I haven't been noticing change in my body as much, at least not my stomach... but as I was closing Koen's door last night, I caught myself in the mirror, and it was so strange, I swear those aren't my legs, those are skinny little chicken legs, that don't touch all the way to the knee! I am within 15 pounds of my goal weight now, just 14 pounds to go! I'll probably decide to lose a little bit more after that, just for good measure so I won't feel like such a lard-ass when I get pregnant again. I don't think I've been in the 170's since junior high, and sure as hell not in the bottom half of the 170's. This is a slow process but it's definitely worth it! Anywho, enough of my rant, here are today's stats.

Weekly Weigh in #11!!!!!

What a week! We've were at the gym Mon-Fri, and really started increasing our workouts, adding strength training. Even after taking yesterday off my whole body still aches, but that's a good thing right?!

Weekly Weigh in #10!!!!!

I am so disappointed this week! I have gone to the gym or walked outside EVERY day this week, for a total of more than 28 MILES and I was expecting a BIG loss. I know it's still a good loss, but I'm just not happy with it. In other news, I passed another milestone today.

I'm excited to have passed the 30 pound mark, WOW 30 pounds in 10 weeks! But still, I'm not happy with this week. I can see a slight change on my body, but I guess I'm starting to get to that point where I'm having trouble seeing myself as I am now and letting go of what I was before. I never thought I could do this, not just the weight loss, but the exercise, I walk a LOT! Over 28 miles in one week?! My calves have definition and less and less flab by the day. It's pretty crazy. Anywho, tomorrow starts a new week, hoping for good results!

Weekly Weigh in #9!!!!!

I am unbelievably surprised this week! I haven't been fantastic, I've been ok, but I've cheated... (Tara and her fatty delicious pineapple upside down cake!!!), but I still managed to lose some! I can't believe 9 weeks ago I weighed 209.4 pounds, and now I'm SO close to being in the 170's!!

Weekly Weigh in #8!!!!!

So I kind of took the last week off, I was pretty bad, I had a lot of regular Starbucks (having my last one now... whoops!) and some bad food, but all things considered, I did pretty good weight-wise. My parents are in town and we're going to our favorite Mexican food place tonight and then it's back on the diet! We've officially started a new 6 week weight-challenge today amongst the friends and as much as I'd love to win, I would also love for one of the other ladies to have similar success to what I've had thus far! It would be a $20 well spent! So anyway, here's today's stats.

The end of week 7 also marks the end of the 'challenge' I had going with my friends. I won ;) But I am so proud of all of us! I wouldn't have the motivation without the initial idea of a competition. The top 3 loser (ha!) were

Me: 25 pounds and 11.94% lost
Jamie: 24.2 pounds and 9.77% lost
Kim: 16.6 pounds and 6.69% lost

We all did soooo well! Here is the progress that 7 weeks can do!


We're taking one week off and then starting back up another challenge (6 weeks this time) on Sunday :) I doubt I'll lose another 25 pounds, but I think I'm setting my goal at 12!


Might I also add, this week officially takes me over the halfway hump to my goal! I had 49 pounds to lose...25 down, 24 to go!
